Things will never be the same

This last week I took my oldest son to college. Although I am thrilled with the choice he has made to attend Liberty University, I have to admit it was pretty hard to walk out the door with him and all his belongings and realize this was it; this is what I raised him for. To set him free.

He is now on his own and I can only hope and pray that my wife and I have instilled the values in him that will enable him to think right, choose right, and to live right. I also wonder does he know how much we love him, and how much we will miss not being able to just have him around.

As I write this, I can only imagine how God must feel; the God whose thoughts of us number the sands in the sea when He doesn’t hear from His children. I understand more now than I ever have His passion for us, and how relentless and furious His love is. In spite of all my faults, He keeps pursuing me. Thank You God for reminding me of that simple truth.

After many years, I have come to the realization that God gives us our children only to recycle them to himself. And if we have done our job as well and as faithful as we could, we will have our grandchidren recycled in the same glorious way.An empty nest is still a home, our little chics bring new little chics to fill it.Time goes by so quickly.
